A Message from Our School Board Interim Chair

Rudolph

Araujo

"As the BCS Board of Directors, our responsibility is not focused solely on supporting the learners who are currently enrolled; we are adopting the best in innovative education for future learners as well."

As the parent of two Bullis Charter School learners, one of whom completed his elementary and middle school education here and one currently enrolled, I see the role and responsibility of Board membership as an opportunity to give back to the school that has given so much to our families.

The BCS founders did an amazing job of imagining a school that would set kids up to be effective human beings down the road. In 2024 we celebrate our 20th anniversary. Now the Board is looking forward to the future as we respond to questions such as these:

  • How do we assure BCS is meeting the needs of ALL our learners?

  • How do we continue the legacy of Bullis Charter School’s first 20 years into the next two decades and beyond?

  • How do we add even more real opportunities to set our learners up for the world of innovative technology they will enter once they leave BCS while teaching essential core skills like financial literacy, time management, and collaboration?

As a Board member and as a dad, I truly believe Bullis Charter School is preparing learners for high school and beyond. I am grateful that we have been able to reap the benefits of the work the founding parents and staff began. We understand that our responsibility is not focused solely on supporting the learners who are currently enrolled here; we are adopting the best in innovative education for future learners as well.

Respectfully,

Rudolph Araujo
Interim Board Chair
